The University of Canterbury (UC) offers a number of scholarships for study towards a PhD degree or for the thesis year of a Masters degree. There is strong competition for these scholarships and applicants must have at least an A average (or the equivalent) for it to be worth applying.
To be considered for a UC Masters or Doctoral scholarship, in addition to submitting a scholarship application form, a complete application for admission should be made before or at the same time as the scholarship application is made.
If admission has not been approved by prescribed dates, the scholarship application will not be considered.

PRE- AND POST-DOC FELLOWSHIPS AT THE HARVARD ACADEMY FOR INTERNATIONAL AND AREA STUDIES

The Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies is dedicated to increasing our knowledge of the culture, history, and institutions of the world's major regions and countries. The Academy Scholars Program identifies and supports outstanding scholars at the start of their careers whose work combines disciplinary excellence in the social sciences (including history and law) with a command of the language, history, or culture of non-Western countries or regions. Their scholarship may elucidate domestic, comparative, or transnational issues, past or present.
Academy Scholars are appointed for 2 years by the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies and are provided time, guidance, and access to Harvard facilities. They receive substantial financial and research assistance to undertake sustained projects of research and/or acquire accessory training in their chosen fields and areas. The Senior Scholars, a distinguished group of senior Harvard faculty members, act as mentors to the Academy Scholars to help them achieve their intellectual potential.
The Ombudsman offers traineeships, twice a year, primarily to university law graduates. The traineeships take place either in Strasbourg or in Brussels according to the needs of the Office.
They start on 1 September and 1 January each year.
Trainees in the Ombudsman's Office must necessarily have a very good command of the English language.
Applications must therefore be submitted in English.
For the same reasons, the documents concerning traineeship applications are only available in English.
In cadrul anului european al voluntariatului, INJEP-AFPEJA - Agentia nationala franceza pentru programul Tineret in Actiune si Agence du Service Civique ofera doua burse de cercetare avand ca tema rolul si aportul voluntariatului in insertia sociala si profesionala a tinerilor.
Proiectul de cercetare se va derula in Franta sau in Europa, intre octombrie 2010 - septembrie 2011. Bursa este in valoare de 13.000 euro.
